The 2024 Core77 Design Awards in the Emerging Technologies category were judged by Alex Hulme and Julie Arrivé, Co-founders of Approach Studio. The winning Professional entry was Elroy Air Chaparral, an autonomous VTOL aircraft by Elroy Air capable of delivering 300 lbs of cargo across a 300-mile range. The winning Student entry was Invisible, a 3D-printed flexible pressure-sensing structure created by a team at Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology. The jury also included Matt Brown, Designer at Extraordinary Facility. This category honors projects using recently developed software and hardware technologies like AI, VR, AR, blockchain, robotics, biometrics, advanced materials, or new production processes.
